At the beginning of December 2016, Astilleros GONDÁN delivered the ship "MARTIN SÆLE", intended for the transport of live fish (Live Fish Carrier). She is a ship commissioned by the Norwegian shipowner Salmon Star, which will operate in the Shetland Islands, the northernmost area of Scotland, in the waters of the North Sea.
The vessel has a 1000 m3 warehouse to house live fish during the sailing. This new Live Fish Carrier has been designed to transport fry and adult fish between the different marine farms located on the coasts and the fish factories located on land. In addition to the complexity of its modern fish treatment systems, the ship has high automation standards, which allows it to perform its operations normally with a crew of only 4 people.
