Ronja Polaris & Ronja Huon

Zamakona Yards delivered its projects of two Live Fish Carrier vessels to Sølvtrans AS at the shipyard in Bilbao to the satisfaction to the Owners and the Norwegian Regulatory bodies for food transportation. The first one, named RONJA POLARIS, was delivered in October 2013 and the delivery of the second one RONJA HUON, took place last September 2014.

These sister vessels have a capacity of 3000 m3, and are arranged for transporting up to 450 tons of live fish.  RONJA POLARIS and RONJA HUON are specialized in transport live fish as salmon, trout, smolts and other farmed species, with the last technologies built in. They are fully equipped for transport in a closed system that does not discharge anything to the sea, and is therefore efficient when it comes to preventing transfer of infections between fish farms.  Both ships include a system that filter the circulating water through filters, which effectively prevents the penetration of lice and its eggs, and is thus very important in the combat of salmon lice.
